Cosmos plants are members of the composite (aster) family. They are tall annuals which can grow to 10 feet tall and produce white, pink and red flowers that are 3 inches across. Cosmos leaves are opposite and very fine and threadlike. Because of their beautiful flowers and threadlike leaves, cosmos are frequently grown in cutting gardens Pollen is occasionally released incidentally by plants which are pollinated by insects.
